Convenience of location and night time quietness. Good parking. The breakfast was good value. The hotel was also very tidy and clean and the reception staff very helpful. The views over the golf course were lovely even though the weather was poor.
It could do with a refurbishment or at least the decor freshening up. The bathroom fittings were old and the grouting between floor and wall tiles was worn. I found the rooms very basic and the bathroom had very minimal toiletries which were cheap and nasty. The lighting was poor, particularly around the mirrors.
The scenery and countryside location is very relaxing, The staff both at reception and in the restaurant were very pleasant. The seating areas outside are fantastic if the weather allows. Breakfast in the restaurant was one of the best.
The hotel furnishings and general decor are looking tired. The bar lacks a social atmosphere.
You had to ask for things at breakfast, even cutlery as they had not been left out.
The pool and other leisure facilities. Bar meal was good - quick service and not overpriced.
It's the only hotel I have stayed in where I have had to ask the breakfast waitress if she could get me a drink - why didn't she ask as she showed me where to sit?
Room and overall decor could have been better. Tray charge for room service was forced rather than "tip" which led me to believe the person bringing the tray didnt get rewarded. The reception area was poor and was confusing whe checking in as it is the same place you book your golf. (the guy on reception was exellent)
It was easy to find and the staff were friendly and helpful. The pool, jacuzzi, spa and 'Turkish Room' were most relaxing and the full English breakfast was ample.
The decor was generally rather tired, as if the hotel really needs a facelift.
Nothing, it was very disappointing.
Scruffy, drab, bar and reception area. Rooms OK. Breakfast : poor service and food, not enough room to seat people and constantly ran out of food. Staff didn't notice until a guest told them there was nothing to eat. Don't bother with Spa weekend as it is shut on Sunday!
Rooms were spotless, lovely friendly staff and good food.
Not what i expected. It was just a golf club with hotel rooms added on as an after thought. None of the ambience of a hote. But saying that we had a good stay.
Very enjoyable, relaxing stay, bedroom was very comfortable, and the breakfast was good. a very warm and welcoming attitude from the Irish guy, `manager` especially in the morning. Pool and hot tub, excellent.
They upgraded my room free of charge as it was my birthday which was fantastic of them. They were very accomadating and helpful too.
I wsa told it was central, it wasnt, although a taxi was about £6 to the centre. Also they was some maitenence work going on which made some areas of the hotel smell of glue.
Please write at least 15 words very dissapointed, rooms not clean, noisy, ceilings full of dump and dirt, spider in the bathroom, I would not go back to saty but I would use the Golf course lovely ground !
It was very noisy and unlike the photographs
The room was large and clean and it was located very close to the town centre.
the customer service was not of a great standard. when booking in i was roughly told how to get to my room but could not find it or the stairs. I was not told what was on site in terms of resturant or dinner or where breakfast would be. also fire alarm went off at 1am due to a drunk guy but was more surprised that there was not an apology in the morning. really custer service lets this place down.
The hotel reception was closed throughout. We had to check in and out via the spa recption. Breakfast was not good at all. The room I had overlooked the poorly laid car park at the front of the hotel eventhough most rooms overlook the golf course!!!
V good breakfast, good spa
